As the rumours would have it, Stefano Domenicali will succeed Stephan Winkelmann as the President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini when he steps into the role on 15th March. This means an end to Winkelmann’s eleven years as head of Lamborghini, a period which has seen a massive increase in production and sales, setting new records more often than not. Automobili Lamborghini have filed for the trademark Avio, and as part of the application, they have listed sports cars as part of the trademark’s usage area. This, combined with information from an Instagram post that turned up on a search for “Lamborghini Avio”, makes us believe that Lamborghini will launch a limited edition Huracán in Geneva. 50 Years of the Miura – Lamborghini Adding Anniversary Logos and Preparing to Celebrate
Lamborghini are gearing up to the 50th anniversary of the Miura, which was first shown at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show. Two trademark applications were filed on the 24th Jan, one says “Miura 50” and the other simply “M50”, both with illustrative logos to match.
