Under the working title of “Lamborghini – The Legend“, AMBI Group have announced that they will fund and produce a biographical film on the remarkable life of the even more remarkable Ferruccio Lamborghini. The film will deal with the many aspects of his life, telling the story about his defining experiences during WWII and the following years, looking into his tractor business and his subsequent realization of “the perfect GT” at Automobili Lamborghini. Ferruccio Lamborghini was undoubtedly a multi-faceted man with a strong drive and desire for perfection in all his undertakings, and his legacy appears to grow stronger with each year, so this film will have to face high expectations from a huge audience.
Bobby Moresco, who secured an Oscar for his screenplay for “Crash” in 2006, will be making the screenplay for “Lamborghini – The Legend“. He has also had success with “Million Dollar Baby”, “The Black Donnellys” and “Millennium”, to name a few. Moresco is no stranger to a good drama film, which should fit right into the life of Ferruccio Lamborghini.
AMBI Group, set up and owned by Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi, will take care of all the steps in creating and distributing this film. The filming itself is set to begin this summer, and will naturally feature Italian locations, but we will also see vital scenes from locations outside Italy. The dialogue will be in English, which should please the majority of Lamborghini enthusiasts around the world.
As a footnote, it is noteworthy that this film nearly coincides with the upcoming biopic on Enzo Ferrari – it will be interesting to compare these two films in retrospect.
