As the rumours would have it, Stefano Domenicali will succeed Stephan Winkelmann as the President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini when he steps into the role on 15th March. This means an end to Winkelmann’s eleven years as head of Lamborghini, a period which has seen a massive increase in production and sales, setting new records more often than not. Winkelmann heads on to become the CEO of quattro GmbH.
Domenicali was born in Imola in 1965 and has been with Ferrari since 1991, mainly as part of Scuderia Ferrari, starting as Head of Business Planning and going all the way to sporting director for Ferrari. It’s hard to say what has possessed him to turn to Lamborghini, but we know this move has been made with great success in the past. This must surely be a good sign!
“I am very excited to be taking on the challenges of this great legacy. It is now my duty to continue the successes that my predecessor Stephan Winkelmann achieved for Automobili Lamborghini”, Domenicali says about his new endeavour.
We would like to wish him the best of luck!
