It was a Bertone Kind of Day

The name Bertone has a certain familiar ring to it in the car design world, with a history spanning more than 100 years. All time greats such as Lamborghini Miura and Countach, Lancia Stratos and Alfa Romeo Giulia SS were born at Bertone, and a large number of concept cars and production cars alike were created there over the years. Sadly, the original Bertone family company came to a halt in 2012, and their collection had to be sold. Some special cars were sold separately, but the large bulk of the collection was sold as one, and it is now possible to see this collection at the Volandia museum near Malpensa airport outside Milan. Oh, and Bertone has been revived – more about that further down. Continue reading “It was a Bertone Kind of Day”

Driving the Maserati Levante

On the eve of 4th July 2016, the Maserati Levante got its Norwegian launch, and at nine o’clock the next morning, I was handed the keys to the only Levante in Norway, ready for an hour’s test drive. Did Lamborghini Hide Their Best-Looking Car in Their Geneva VIP Lounge?

The doors of the 86th Geneva Motor Show are long since closed, and the time for reminiscence is already here. When Mate Rimac, then 23 years old, premiered his Concept_One at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, I suspect not many expected to see this car again.
